What is SmartMed and how does it work?

SmartMed Private Medical Services has introduced concierge medical services to Saudi Arabia. This pioneering approach to healthcare provides private healthcare to its members with board-certified doctors, nurses and specialists who deliver services at home with modern medical equipment such as portable x-ray machines, ECGs and ultrasound scanners.

Members benefit not only from the convenience of seeing the doctor at their homes but also the knowledge that time has been saved, rather than wasted in crowded waiting rooms where there is always a risk of germs from the high movement of the public within hospitals.

SmartMed provide preventive medical care, chronic pain management advice, healthy living advice, personal trainers, dietary, dental, urgent care, sleeping disorder management and spinal care through orthotics along with availability of homecare nursing and ante and post-natal care.

SmartMed offers inclusive memberships for individuals and/or families of all ages.

What is Concierge Medicine?

Concierge medicine is personal, private and ongoing assistance healthcare.
Nurses and physicians care for fewer patients than those in a conventional practice providing better healthcare for SmartMed members. The concept relies on routine healthcare checks, blood works, scans and wellbeing advice to keep its members healthy. With the ability to organize additional care should injury, illness or nursing at home be necessary.
SmartMed members are given a personalized annual health plan, called a ‘Patient Journey’. This plan is devised on the outcome of visit to you by board-certified staff at your home. They will give a full physical examination and take your medical history.
Our membership is available for individuals or families of all ages. Membership is inclusive of board-certified doctor visits and specialists visits as well as comprehensive laboratory, blood, vaccines, x-rays, ultrasound, and heart monitoring via ECG.

Are your doctors and healthcare professionals licensed?

Our staff are fully licensed by the Saudi Health Commission. SmartMed’s medical consultants are all board-certified doctors, highly knowledgeable in their fields of speciality. They are world class physicians having gained fellowships and experience in Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Canada and the USA.

What is the scope of coverage?

We provide an extensive medical assessment, health awareness, treatment plan, and follow up appointments for you and your family. Blood tests, a consultant visit, x-rays and ultrasound scanning are all included in your subscription. The majority of our services are provided in your home however, there are some procedures, such as an MRI scans which can’t be done in-house.

What if I have a question or need care urgently? When is SmartMed available?

Our official working hours are from 9:00 AM until 11:00 PM. However, should you need urgent advice or require an unscheduled home visit, you just need to call us or contact us via SmartMed app

I don’t want to go to the hospital – what kind of equipment can SmartMed provide directly to my home?

Our team and medical diagnostic equipments can attend at a location suitable to you.
We provide you with physician visits, nutritionist, personal trainers, physiotherapy, laboratory tests, blood tests, medical imaging, home dental checks, home x- ray machines, portable ultrasound scanners, medication administration, and offer procedures such as broken bone casting and wound dressing. We can even check your heart with ECG test right in your home or office. However, there may be an unfortunate occasion where a member needs to go to hospital to enable the best care, then we can assist with transport if required.

Can you provide round-the-clock care for my elderly relative?

Yes, our home nursing service does exactly that. SmartMed provide profession, qualified and experienced caregivers to attend to any member who takes up this package. Nurses can be arranged to attend when you need them to. Care functions vary, according to need, but wound management, medicine administering including intravenous medicines, personal care, meal preparation and help eating, advice on safety and installing fall alarms to help monitor a member vulnerable to falls can all be arranged.

Does my initial consultation happen at my home, workplace or SmartMed offices?

Your initial consultation, as with treatments, x-rays, scans, blood tests and medical attendances, can happen at your convenience at your home or work location.

When will I have to visit a hospital?

Sometimes an emergency visit is required due to extremely serious illness. Your safety will always remain our first priority. That’s why should your doctor recommend you to be hospitalized we can provide you with suitable transport to make your journey more comfortable.

Currently we are fully operational in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and and Dubai UAE.

Is there an additional charge or fee associated with services that are not covered in my yearly subscription fee?

The cost of medications and prescribed drugs are not included as these are not provided within the SmartMed membership nor are external services such as MRI and CITI scans.

I want to sign up my loved ones. Is the pricing different for families?

SmartMed urges all family members to improve their lifestyle and to this avail special family packages are available for members of the same household.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept bank transfers, credit cards, cheque and cash payments. We also have several agreements with local banks to provide you with interest free installment plans.

How often do I pay membership fees?

The membership fees are generally paid on a yearly basis at the beginning of your journey with us.
